Background information

I bring 24 years of experience in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine, with an extensive clinical, administrative, and leadership background across Greece and internationally.

I completed my specialist training in Greece at the country’s largest trauma hospital, where I developed strong expertise in the management of complex cases and multidisciplinary rehabilitation care.

Experience

  • I served as Head of Inpatient Departments and running Outpatient Departments in private rehabilitation centers in Greece, as well as Medical Director of a Rehabilitation Center of 120 beds in Greece.
  • I maintained in Greece, a private practice with a focus on acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, delivering treatments for pain management and attending neurological patients as well
  • In Saudi Arabia, I held the role of Head of Departments of Neurorehabilitation and Female ’s Unit rehabilitation at Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City, while also running clinics at Sultan Medical Center in Riyadh and the busy Outpatient Departments of Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City, consulting patients with a variety of diagnoses
  • In Dubai, I served as Head of Inpatient Department within a Dubai Health facility and was also running outpatient clinical services for patients of all ages above 2years old

Scope of service and areas of expertise

  • Broad and highly specialized, covering neurological patients with stroke, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and other movement disorders, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer disease
  • In addition, I manage the rehabilitation needs for musculoskeletal patients following major and minor surgeries, acute and chronic pain cases, including lower back pain, shoulder and elbow pain, hip and knee pain, neck pain and rheumatological conditions
  • I also have experience in rehabilitation of pediatric patients with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays and scoliosis
  • I am experienced in geriatric patients with balance disorders, fall risk, and frailty syndromes, osteoporosis, and  patients with cognitive, swallowing and communication impairments
  • I managed the rehab plans in bariatric and post-bariatric patients, cardiopulmonary and oncology adult patients

My experience spans both inpatient and outpatient consultations, treatment planning, multidisciplinary follow-up, and long-term patient management and leading interdisciplinary teams

My values and my vision for rehabilitation.

I value collaborative work within interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, clinical dietitians, psychologists, neuropsychologists, rehab nurses, case managers and social workers.

I strongly believe that rehabilitation has no age limit and should be an ongoing process that continuously creates new goals for improving quality of life for patients, caregivers, and families alike.

I place particular emphasis on patient motivation, education, daily functionality, and overall wellbeing.

My vision is to highly contribute to the   establishment of React Medical Center, as a pioneering center in United Arab Emirates that, through evidence-based practice, comprehensive assessments, and excellence in outpatient care delivered  by a  multinational, multidisciplinary team,   will become a leader in rehabilitation services and will provide  the highest standard of care to every patient.

Our aspiration is   to develop a world-class training hub within REACT Medical center, in collaboration with prestigious European universities of international standing, where therapists from the UAE and across the globe can enhance their theoretical knowledge, refine their clinical skills, and grow into leaders in their field.
